Junior Design Engineer (Mechanical)

PFS is seeking a motivated Junior Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Design Engineering team. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be working on a variety of challenging design projects across a broad range of industries.

We want to hear from you if you have:

• An engineering qualification (Diploma or Bachelor’s)
• You can be a graduate or have 1-2 years of experience
• Good familiarity with SolidWorks
• Familiarity with manufacturing methods, including pressing, cutting, welding, and machining
• High attention to detail and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Practical, hands-on approach to solving engineering problems
• The ability to work to deadlines and track your progress against a schedule

Role description:

• Create designs and drawings for contract manufacturing, heavy equipment, machinery and a variety of industrial projects
• Review and interpret client drawings, specifications, and standards and produce high quality designs and drawings
• Work closely with senior design engineers, project managers, workshop team leaders, and site teams to ensure smooth fabrication/installation
• Support workshop and site teams with technical queries and modifications
• Contribute to continuous improvement in design and fabrication processes
• Achieve design deliverables by their delivery deadline(s)
• Create manufacturing files for suppliers, getting quotes and placing purchase order requests
