Tubes in the existing condenser had thinned and had to be replaced.
Project included the following:
- 1462 tubes, 23mmOD with 1mm wall.
- Tubes Admiralty Brass to ASTM B 111
- Tube plates kept in position while old tubes were removed.
- Measured holes to calculate the expansion required.
- Expanded tubes to desired wall thinning.
- Cut and trimmed the tube ends to be flush with the tube plate.
- Refurbished water box and reassembled pressure side of condenser.
